Gift Idea | Holiday Chex Mix

Casey B >> 12/18/2013 >>

This year Scott and I wanted to do something a little different for all our close friends and family at Christmas. Everyone always goes out and spends tons on TVs, Kuerig Machines, Gift Cards, etc. We wanted to do something that was a bit more from the heart. So to accompany the gifts we are giving out this year, we thought it would be fun to do our own Chex Mix in decorative mason jars.

Below I am going to show you how you can make your very own Chex Mix Christmas Gift for your friends or family. It also makes a great gift for teachers, coaches, personal trainers, co-workers, bosses and anyone else on your Christmas list! We spent $40.00 and ended up with seven large mason jars to give away as gifts! Perfect for those of us who have a long list of loved ones to buy for ;)

Liquid Eyeliner 101

Casey B >> 12/11/2013 >>
Hey Everyone!

One of my most commonly asked questions is on how to conquer liquid liner. Trust me, it isn't easy. I wish I could say that it was, however there are still days (more often than not!) that even I have difficulties. While practice makes perfect, there are some tips and tricks to assist you. Follow these tips, and you will be a Liquid Liner Pro in no time!

Tips on how to get Puuuurfect Cat Eyeliner

  • Try connecting little dashes instead of sweeping on one perfect line all at once
  • Start with a fine line on the inner corner and more thick on the outer corner
  • Finish with a little flick at the end of the line that goes in the same direction as your lower lash
  • Using a liquid liner with built in felt tip can sometimes be hard to control. Instead, try using an angled brush to apply the eyeliner.
  • Personally, I avoid liquid liner on the lower lash because it can look super harsh. Instead, opt for darker eyeshadow powder or smudged pencil liner which looks more smokey
  • If you make a mistake, dip a small tipped concealer brush into some foundation and use it like an eraser
Liquid Liner For Your Eye Shape!

Here are some guidelines to follow when using liquid liner, depending on your beautiful eye shape that will really make them (and their shape!) stand out

Small Eyes • Keep the line thin (or it will make your eyes small)
Big Eyes • Draw a thicker liner (to maximize those peepers)
Hooded Eyes • Once applied, keep looking down until its dried
Wide-Set Eyes • Thicker on the inside corner to draw eyes inward
Close-Set Eyes • Start lining in the middle of the lid and put a wing on it

Yes, it's coming! At least where I live! We already have about half a foot of snow. And with that, comes colder temperatures, indoor heating and less moisture in the air. This can do a number on your skin. I have compiled a few tips to help you get through this frigid season without sacrificing the health and beauty of your skin.

Below are two of my new face creams from Nivea that I had posted on my Instagram account. So far I am really loving them. They are super hydrating, smell great, and leave my face really smooth. A perk? They are affordable :)

FOTD: 80s Glitter Cut Crease

Casey B >> 11/27/2013 >>
Hey Everyone!

Here's a fun FOTD I did about a week ago. I was feeling creative, and glittery, so this is what came from it! I wanted to work on my cut crease work, and thought this was a fun cute look even though its not something you would normally wear out....unless you're totally awesome ;)

I will be editing and posting a video on this soon if you are interested in seeing how I did it, or if you'd want to work on it yourself. That video should be up by this weekend. Check back :)

Annabelle CC Perfecting Base Review

If you've followed me over the past few years, I am a huge lover of the Annabelle Cosmetics line. I use their makeup constantly throughout my Youtube videos and my freelance kit is bursting. My clients love them too!

Recently I was able to try out the new CC perfecting bases from Annabelle. These bases work to even out skin tone, neutralize redness, prime the skin for foundation, and it reduces the look of pores and fine lines. It also features an anti shine finish.

Marcelle Eye Make-up Remover Pads

These super moist, hypoallergenic, paraben and oil-free make-up wipes are amazing! They are extra gentle for sensitive eyes, there is no stinging or burning and are so effective you can use one pad per eye. With 80, you won't run out soon! It even removes and dissolves waterproof mascara. These are the perfect size for eye make-up removal. Instead of trying to avoid sharing your face make-up wipe with your eye make-up, this handy pad is the ideal size for just your peepers.

How-To Use Them:
Gently swipe pad over closed eyelids and lashes. I like to follow up by using my Annabelle Eye Make-up Remover Lotion (see below).

Annabelle Eye Make-Up Remover Lotion

This oil and paraben free eye make-up remover lotion is amazing! It removes all traces of regular make-up as well as long-lasting and waterproof. Equipped with a mess-free pump that is quick and easy to use, it is also enfaced with aloe vera and cucumber extract that soothes the skin. In addition, it is also perfume, alcohol, and soap free. So there is no stinging or burning, my eyes feel refreshed afterward, the way they should.

How-To Use It:
Gently press a cotton pad over the top of the pump, I usually only do one to two pumps per cotton pad. Gently swipe pad over closed eyelid and lashes. I like to use this one after I use my Marcelle Eye Make-up Remover Pads (see above).

Marcelle BB Cleanser - Skin Enhancer

This cleanser and multi-action moisturizer works overnight. It is for all skin types, hypo-allergenic, perfume, paraben and oil free. It has eight benefits in one amazing cleanser.

  1. Purifies Skin
  2. Improves Skin Vitaliity
  3. Provides a luminous complexion
  4. Soothes and calms
  5. Offers immediate hydrating benefits
  6. renforces skins moisture barrier
  7. Cleans pores
  8. Protects Skin from environmental stresses

I absolutely love this cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling completely refreshed. Like my face is breathing! The first time I used this cleanser it was after my regular face wash while in the shower. I could not believe how much stuff this cleanser picked up off my skin even after I had already showered, and used my regular face wash.

How-To Use It:
Pump product once or twice into hand. Massage all over face in a circular motion. I use a large circular cotton pad and wipe off. The product says not to rinse to maximize full benefits. My face always feels silky soft after ward!

Back in the Fall I was looking for an affordable replacement for my Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer and thought I would try the Sephora line. I ended up purchasing the Sephora Collection Perfecting Colour Concealer.

Scott surprised me when I came home from work today and told me he wanted to take me out to dinner. Seriously so sweet. I thought it would be a great opportunity to do a Date Night Series of videos since I needed to get ready from fresh out of the shower anyway.

Happy Monday & Melted Crayon Art

Casey B >> 3/11/2013 >>
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was nice, quiet and relaxed. On Saturday I did some grocery shopping with Scott, which I really dislike. I enjoy the cooking part, but not so much the pushing a cart around, the hustle and bustle of it all, and of course, the dreaded bill. But I had Scott with me, as I usually do. And that's always fun :)  Heres what you can look forward to this week on MissCaseyB.com:
  • Melted Crayon Art with Scott
  • Sephora Concealer Review (Seriously a fantastic concealer!!!!)
  • Date Series: Makeup, Hair, OOTN
