Gift Idea | Holiday Chex Mix

Casey B >> 12/18/2013 >>

This year Scott and I wanted to do something a little different for all our close friends and family at Christmas. Everyone always goes out and spends tons on TVs, Kuerig Machines, Gift Cards, etc. We wanted to do something that was a bit more from the heart. So to accompany the gifts we are giving out this year, we thought it would be fun to do our own Chex Mix in decorative mason jars.

Below I am going to show you how you can make your very own Chex Mix Christmas Gift for your friends or family. It also makes a great gift for teachers, coaches, personal trainers, co-workers, bosses and anyone else on your Christmas list! We spent $40.00 and ended up with seven large mason jars to give away as gifts! Perfect for those of us who have a long list of loved ones to buy for ;)

Liquid Eyeliner 101

Casey B >> 12/11/2013 >>
Hey Everyone!

One of my most commonly asked questions is on how to conquer liquid liner. Trust me, it isn't easy. I wish I could say that it was, however there are still days (more often than not!) that even I have difficulties. While practice makes perfect, there are some tips and tricks to assist you. Follow these tips, and you will be a Liquid Liner Pro in no time!

Tips on how to get Puuuurfect Cat Eyeliner

  • Try connecting little dashes instead of sweeping on one perfect line all at once
  • Start with a fine line on the inner corner and more thick on the outer corner
  • Finish with a little flick at the end of the line that goes in the same direction as your lower lash
  • Using a liquid liner with built in felt tip can sometimes be hard to control. Instead, try using an angled brush to apply the eyeliner.
  • Personally, I avoid liquid liner on the lower lash because it can look super harsh. Instead, opt for darker eyeshadow powder or smudged pencil liner which looks more smokey
  • If you make a mistake, dip a small tipped concealer brush into some foundation and use it like an eraser
Liquid Liner For Your Eye Shape!

Here are some guidelines to follow when using liquid liner, depending on your beautiful eye shape that will really make them (and their shape!) stand out

Small Eyes • Keep the line thin (or it will make your eyes small)
Big Eyes • Draw a thicker liner (to maximize those peepers)
Hooded Eyes • Once applied, keep looking down until its dried
Wide-Set Eyes • Thicker on the inside corner to draw eyes inward
Close-Set Eyes • Start lining in the middle of the lid and put a wing on it

Yes, it's coming! At least where I live! We already have about half a foot of snow. And with that, comes colder temperatures, indoor heating and less moisture in the air. This can do a number on your skin. I have compiled a few tips to help you get through this frigid season without sacrificing the health and beauty of your skin.

Below are two of my new face creams from Nivea that I had posted on my Instagram account. So far I am really loving them. They are super hydrating, smell great, and leave my face really smooth. A perk? They are affordable :)
