Smokey Eyes | Date Night Makeup

Casey B >> 11/30/2015 >>

Here is my take on a classic look - the smokey eye. No night out is complete without some confidence and the perfect (and instant!) way to do that is with a sexy smouldering eye.

My makeup techniques have progressed since the beginning (thankfully) so I wanted to recreate this look I did a while back using new (and better) products.

This look is meant for people not afraid of a little makeup. The darkness can really add some drama that you may not be used to - that's okay! It's fun to try new things.

Make Your Eyes Look Bigger

Casey B >> 9/28/2015 >>

When trying to make your eyes appear larger, there are a few steps you can take to help accentuate this.
  • First, apply a medium dark brown that is 1-2 shades darker than your skin tone, directly into the crease. (See video below for correct placement)

I have been wanting to try this out for a long time now. I have I heard really great things. But I am so stuck in my old ways. I always find something I like and am scared to take a leap, shell out the cash and try something new. This time I decided to take a leap and just do it. I needed a new Primer anyway since I have used up all of mine on my lovely brides and their parties this summer.

After watching several YouTube reviews and reading a ton of Blog reviews, I decided I should just try it. So I did it!

I am really happy I did! I was super happy with the outcome and just how great my skin looked. Generally I reach for Smashbox, which is more of a gel formula. The Lock It primer is more of a lotion style.

I feel like my face looked more flawless after a day of wear with this as the base VS when I use no primer.

In the video below, I try it out for the first time. In addition to wearing it all day and then giving my review at the end. Check it out to see the results!

Colourful Liner

Casey B >> 8/17/2015 >>
Sometimes it just a classic cat eye or winged liner look just isn't enough, and we want more, without really adding too much more. Adding a bright liner before your black liner will achieve a peek-a-boo effect allowing you to rock fun bright colours no matter the occasion.

Here I have added a vibrant purple. So vibrant, in fact, the camera makes it look like blue pen ink. To see how I got this look, click the video below for a full, quick minute tutorial.

Kylie Jenner Makeup Tutorial

Casey B >> 7/01/2015 >>

Today I felt like starting a new series on my channel/blog. I know how this family has dominated the entertainment (and gossip magazine) scene over the past several years and they show no sign of slowing down. From clothing lines, to hair care down to a number one iPhone app, they are everywhere. Yes, I am talking about the Kardashians!

Whether you love them or hate them, or love to hate them, they are, arguably, icons of women and men all over the world. Their style and presentation is undeniable. So naturally it made sense to want to break down  each lovely lady's look and re-create it for those who want to re-create it themselves!

First, of course, I had to start with the newest little member and her noticeable pout. Kylie Jenner has been all over the tabloids and internet over the last several months for her (drastic?) suddenly grown up image. The girl is gorgeous! And her makeup is usually flawless and makes you want to run to the bathroom to try to re-create it for your night out or for school. Here is one of her go-to everyday style looks with the notorious Kylie Jenner lip included!

Click the video below to see a step-by-step live tutorial on how to get this look! Don't forget to "Like" and Subscribe to my Channel for more videos!

I was inspired by the gorgeousness that is Gigi Hadid for my newest tutorial. She is one of the newest IT girls, in addition to being a Sports Illustrated model, she has also been featured in several magazines (Vogue, Elle) and huge ad campaigns (she was the face of Guess) all around the world.

Here is a few of the new Urban Decay Revoluntion High-Colour Lipglosses ($26.00 0.17oz). As you know, I am a huge fan of pretty much everything Urban Decay (their eyeshadows are my all time favourite).  These have just launched and are available at Sephora (online, too!) and also on Urban Decay's website.

Last week I picked up a new Foundation! If you've been with me for a while, you know I have been pretty true to my Annabelle SkinTrue line of foundation. I needed a refill of one of the shades for my kit so off to the beauty department I went. While there I was walking around and noticed this new foundation from Revlon. Well, new to me. I'm not entirely sure how long it's been out for. I felt like I neeeeeded to try it out. So I picked up a shade I thought would be the perfect refill for my kit. Turns out, it's actually not as fair toned as I thought and it was the perfect shade for me.

It is slightly more expensive than my other foundation (C$17.95) and has slightly less 30mL vs. 40mL.

One of my go to products would have to be eyeliner. I just feel better when I have it on. Its just like mascara for me. I usually won't do one without the other, unless I am in a super big rush. I am not a huge fan of liquid eyeliner, I find it very difficult to use accurately. Specifically when I am working with clients. I much prefer to use an eyeliner pencil. I think they are less harsh than a liquid liner, easier to use, and look more natural - for the most part.

Finding a really good quality liner is pretty difficult. Every brand out there has an eyeliner selection so its hard to know what is good and what you're just wasting your money on. And just because it is more expensive, doesn't necessarily mean its better, either!

April Sephora Haul

Casey B >> 4/22/2015 >>

I picked up a few things online at Sephora for my upcoming wedding season. I am so excited that it is finally upon us! It was such a long winter and I just love meeting with all my brides and their family and friends. It is also an excuse to go shopping! I didn't get toooo many things, just a few necessities. I will be making another purchase in about a month, once wedding season has started. Can I just say how quickly Sephora got it to me? I ordered it Thursday, Good Friday through to Easter Sunday/Monday is a write off, then it actually arrived the Tuesday! I was quite impressed. I think next time I will order on a Monday and it would probably be here by Friday!

If you're interested in seeing the goodies I got, including my new favourite eyeliner, feel free to check out the video below:

March 2015 Favourites

Casey B >> 4/16/2015 >>
Here are some of the products I have been loving this past March! I haven't done a Monthly Favourites video in forever and I thought it might be fun to get back into them! It's also nice to share some of my current faves with you, and hopefully you let me know some of yours, too!

If you don't know what a Monthly Favourites video is, it's simply a collection of some of the beauty related products I reached for the most over the past month. I like to incorporate some new products into my routine from month to month, (thanks in large part to your suggestions!) so I find these videos super helpful to grow mine/your collection and try new products.

This month they are mostly budget friendly! I show you some of my favourite shades of Sally Hansens Gel Polish, my current favourite blemish buster and my favourite bronzer of the moment. To check them out, and so many more, be sure to check out the video below!

Favourite MAC Lipsticks

Casey B >> 3/30/2015 >> ,
Here are some of my all time favourite lipsticks from MAC. These are perfect for the
upcoming spring/summer season as most of them are bright!
Candy Yum-Yum, Pink Nouveau, Creme Cup, Saint Germain, Viva Glam Nicki, Viva Glam Gaga 2
The reason I love MAC lipsticks is because the quality is quite amazing! They generally wear for four to six hours and all have a yummy, subtle vanilla flavour.

My favourite formulas would be creme sheen, and satin but I also love the amplified, for obvious reasons (the pigmentation is insane!).

For more on each colour, check out the video below :)
