Happy Valentine's Day! Even if you are solo this lovely day, take this day to do something for yourself! I will be spending mine alone, even though I am attached, so I am going to be having a Girls Night In at my place!

For those heading out with their special someones, their girlfriends or if you are working, I filmed a smouldering smokey eye Valentines themed for the occasion.

I recently got my hands on this gorgeous quad from MAC Cosmetics. I currently don't own any of these shadows so I knew picking up this quad was definitely a good investment. I'm loving this quad for soft, romantic looks and think it will make the perfect addition to my kit!

The colour combinations and looks to create are endless! It might not look it, but you have all you need here to make perfect everyday wearable looks, romantic elegant looks, and date night-girls night hangout looks.

Solar White (Frost) - A beautiful butter toned shadow that is perfect for highlighting and applying to the inner corners to brighten up a look.

Seeds of Love (Frost) - A stunning coral shade that is perfect for a romantic look! This shade will definitely bring warmth to the skin and be perfect for Spring, Summer and Fall!

Petal Worship (Lustre) - I am generally not a fan of Lustre shadows but this one is just such a pretty shade of purple pink that I can let it slide!

Contrast (Velvet) - I thought a navy blue was a weird addition to this quad, but I am actually loving the depth it adds to any look!

Every girl needs to have a solid foundation/face routine. One that doesn't feel overdone or look overdone. It should be not caked on or feel weighed down. It should be light, and enhance your natural skin without feeling 'covered up.' If you want to see how to find the perfect foundation shade for you, click here to see that blog!

Over the years, my routine has changed and adapted. Not only due to formulas changing, but also due to (gasp) age. When I first started wearing makeup I was about 14 years old. I started, mostly, with eyeliner and mascara. Once I got a little bit older (16+) I started wearing foundation. Of course, at that age, we generally don't know too much about skin care, application or colour matching. If I could go back to my younger self, I would lay off the foundation and allow my skin to breathe.

I often see clients with gorgeous skin that is in amazing condition. The reason? Nine times out of 10 it is because they have barely ever used foundation. Now I use it to even out my skin tone, to cancel out redness and get rid of those nasty under eye circles. Not to 'cover up.'

This routine (featured in the video below -  COMING SOON!) is done in very light, even layers. It still allows the natural look of my skin to show through but evens out my skin tone and provides the confidence I need to put my best face forward. It can literally be accomplished in five minutes, which is perfect for the gal on the go!
