Make Your Eyes Look Bigger

When trying to make your eyes appear larger, there are a few steps you can take to help accentuate this.
  • First, apply a medium dark brown that is 1-2 shades darker than your skin tone, directly into the crease. (See video below for correct placement)
  • Next, add a highlight, or a shadow that is 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone, right under the brows.
  • If you want to make your eyes look big, you may want to skip the black eye liner on the lower lash line/waterline. Having black right next to the white of your eyes totally closes them off. Instead, opt for dusting that medium brown under your lower lashes.
  • To create the illusion that your eyes are larger than the appear, a key tip is to make your eye line look bigger than it is. To do this, grab a white or nude waterproof liner (nude works better as it is less noticeable and distracting than white) and apply it directly to your waterline.
  • For wide set eyes, you want to have the liner go the entire length of the upper lash line. Getting thicker towards the outer corner. This will give an illusion and draw your eyes inward.
  •  For close set, keep the liner on the outer half of your eyes and skip bringing it towards your nose. Keeping the liner on the outer half draws an illusion and lifts your eyes up and out.
  • Finally, reach for some mascara. You can opt for lashes as well. My suggestion would be to cut them in half and use them just on the outer corners instead of the full lash. You can also put a few individual ones on the lower lash for effect.
